Self Care #1 Food

Taking care of ourselves nowadays is far from showering and moisturizing. It’s taking care of you mind and your inner body as well. I think subconsciously we all know that but often try to quiet down that little voice saying: Are you sure you want to eat his? Since I can remember I would save my school money to buy sweets and eat them all when I get home. And it did not really changed much until recently.

The most fascinating discovery for me was that our second brain is in our gut, imagine, what we eat affects our lives so much, who wants a junk food brain? I mean, it takes time to wrap our heads around that.

There is plenty of information and recipes online and it takes trial and error to really learn what’s good for you but the most important thing is to actually get out there and start doing something.

I have been looking for inspiration online on Deliciously Ella and Pinterest quite a lot. The newer addition to my cooking inspiration is Eat Beautiful by Wendy Rowe which nicely ties in with my passion for skin care. Similarly educating and inspiring are Amelia Freer’s Cook. Nourish. Glow. and Eat. Nourish. Glow.

Some of my favourite recipes are below. Let me know what healthy and easy recipes are your go to?

Deliciously Ella’s Pea and Spinach Pesto Pasta – really nice filling but also light recipe which is really tasty.
